Utopia Parkway, 2012
Dancers Angie Hauser and Chris Aiken, renowned for their improvisation dance performances, asked me to create an system to project generative graphics for their dance Utopia Parkway inspired by Joseph Cornell's boxes.
Of particular importance for piece, was that the system could be controlled by the lighting board operator and be able to respond and react to events as the happen in the improvisational dance.
Utopia Parkway was performed in then Mendenhall Performing Arts Center in Northampton, Massachusetts and the Irey Theater in Boulder, Colorado. Both performances took place in 2012.
